IBFW 2013 AT Mumbai (Nov 29 to Dec 4)- Meet the Designers

MEET THE DESIGNERS 


Day 1 : Jyotsna Tiwari

The luxuriously high profile fashion week kick stated on Friday with Jyotsna Tiwari showcasing her collection. The showstopper was Jacqueline Fernandez, the bollywood beauty.

Jyotsna Tiwari showcased her magnificent collection called 'Elohim'.


Day 1 : Tarun Tahiliani

Adding his characteristic couture touches to each creation, Tarun Tahiliani presented his rich collection replete with glitz and glamour.

Model and actor Asif Azim was seen scorching the ramp in one of his creations.


Day 2: Pallavi Jaikishan

Pallavi Jaikishan opened day two with a fabulous triple offering of luxurious bridal wear.

A new colour palette of garnet, oxblood, and maroon was an unconventional addition to the line from the designer.



Day 2 : Gaurav Gupta

Gaurav Gupta's collection 'Lightfall 2013' was a spectacular fashionable journey on the ramp.

The show opened with a melangé of seductive gowns in lurex, lamé and jersey. The colour story started from moon grey, ecru, dust, gold, Egyptian teal and then finally to pop neon tones.

Spotted at the show was bollywood beauty Kalki Koechlin who was there to cheer up the designer.


Day 3: Azva Show

The gorgeous gold jewellery collection by Azva along with the 'Kumbhback Collection' by Tarun Tahiliani opened Day 3 of India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 in Mumbai.

From mini Rani Haars with tiny ruby pendants to floral necklaces and thick intricately crafted cuffs, kadas and bangles the show was an extravaganza of gold jewellery.

Causing a sensation on the ramp was the showstopper Chitrangda Singh, wearing a stunning gold beaded neckpiece and another on the head along with rows of bangles, kadas, bracelets and delicately crafted earrings. Matching the jewellery was the multi-coloured asymmetric panelled skirt with a bright red angular jersey blouse.


Day 3: Falguni & Shane Peacock

Inspired by their travels to Monaco, Nice and the Gardens of Lake Como, Falguni and Shane Peacock displayed their ethereal 'Garden of Eden' collection.

Bollywood Actress Evelyn Sharma was their showstopper.


Day 3: Raghavendra Rathore

Raghavendra Rathore’s Royal Indian bridal collection made an opulent impact on the third day of IBFW 2013.

For that show stopping entry it was the lovely Bollywood star, Dia Mirza in a red taffeta tucked bias-cut long skirt and black heavily embroidered jacket.



Day 4 : Ashima & Leena

Designers Aashima-Leena opened Day 4 with their fabulous bridal collection called 'Aalap'.

Inspired by the pietra-dura motif from the Taj Mahal, the design appeared on the glamorous creations in shades of burnished gold and carnelian along with innovative gotta-patti work in the popular ruby and jade combination.

Ending the show was the very glamorous Bollywood star, Huma Qureshi in a splendid pink-green ornate lehenga, choli and net dupatta that was created from an intricately woven heirloom fabric.


Day 4: Meera Muzaffar Ali

Kotwara by Meera Muzaffar Ali presented their 'Pearl of the Orient' bridal collection on Day 4.

Evoking the grandeur of Awadh, the exotic bridal wear was textured with pearls, sequins, resham and zari for the regal ensembles as they glided down the runway.


Day 4 : Shantanu & Nikhil

Designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil's sensational bridal collection called 'To Die For' ended Day 4 at the IBFW 2013.

For Fall/Winter 2013-14 the designers offered a stylish but practical line for the new age brides.

As the show stopper it was India’s ace tennis player, Sania Mirza who glided in gracefully wearing a white net one-shoulder gown with gold drapes and embroidery scattered over the bodice.


Day 5 : Preeti S Kapoor

Inspired by the fabulous Indian costumes from the Hills of Kashmir to the sands of Kutch and from the glory of Awadh to the historic drama of Hyderabad, Preeti S Kapoor’s 'Royal India' bridal collection was a stunning offering.

Making a dramatic show-stopping entry under a canopy of flowers was the pretty Bollywood star, Aditi Rao Hydari in a red heavily embellished gold lehenga, choli and orange dupatta.




Day 5: Mandira Wirk

Inspired by the forts, palaces, architecture, tales of romance and valour of the Pink City (Jaipur), designer Mandira Wirk presented a glamorous bridal collection on Day 5.

Opening the show was the gorgeous Miss Universe Canada 2012, Sahar Biniaz who emerged from the wings, looking every inch a beauty queen in a stunning gold lehenga with an embroidered jacket.

To end the show on a high bridal note, the designer had showstopper Sophie Chaudhary who arrived in a palki, wearing a dazzling crystal and gold corset, lehenga and dupatta.


Day 5 : JJ Walaya

Ace designer JJ Vallaya took audience on an elegant voyage with his 'Maharaja of Madrid' collection on Day 5.

Divided into five sub inspirations, the garments were an astonishing amalgamation of Spanish and Indian elements that came together seamlessly.

Ending the show was the glamorous Bollywood star Esha Gupta, who dazzled in an Indo-Spanish inspired embroidered vision of a lehenga, halter choli and orange net dupatta.


Day 6: Neeta Lulla

Celebrity designer Neeta Lulla brought back  vintage charm with her ethereal 'Bridal Goddess' collection on the final day of India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.

Neeta offered the audience a stunning display of western and ethnic creations including long white net skirts, lean tunics, tulle covers and gowns with sexy fish trails.

While Ritesh, in an ink blue velvet sherwani and pants with matching embroidered kurta, strutted down the ramp with great style, his lady love Genelia entered from the audience in a luxurious brown Indian silk lehenga combined with a peplum blouse.


Day 6 : Rohit Bhal

Rohit Bal's ultimate Grand Finale collection 'Mulmul' was a stunning end to the India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.

Starting with sheer muslins and moving to rich velvets, the collection displayed timeless crafts and surface ornamentation. Recreating the Golden Age of India with vintage kasab, Kashmiri work on muslin, shibori for chanderi and voiles, the creations had a magical appeal.

Rohit Bal’s show had a glittering attendance with the likes of Abhishek Bachchan in the front row. The actor graciously came up on the ramp to greet the designer.
